Sports betting crackdown
Football administrators are boasting that they now have arrangements with sports bookmakers to get the information needed to catch any desperate players and officials tempted to have a wager on the outcome of their sport. That’s all well and good but if the various codes are serious about stopping betting scandals tarnishing the image of their sports they would follow the lead of professional sporting organisations in the United States and make it compulsory for clubs to give accurate information about injuries to players.
