Pompous nonsense from Paul Kelly

I have just read 1379 words of Paul Kelly wisdom in The Australian about the need for Julia Gillard to dominate the reform agenda. The great pontificator alleges that Gillard needs to rule out what she won't do and become the reformist champion of what she will do. Being trapped in weak and unconvincing tactical compromises, writes Kelly, will expose her on the political killing ground. Yet having got to this conclusion I still do not have the faintest, foggiest clue what the "necessary" reforms are.

It's very unusual for Paul Kelly not to disclose the answers because he is good at answering his own questions. When he appeared on Q&A last week with Geoffrey Robertson it was a little embarrassing .
He made his points with questions that were really good about the Catholic Church's responsibility in respect to child abuse but then proceeded in his long-winded way to answer them.
